2011-2012 EPIC Award for Driving Dramatic Student Achievement

In 2012, Pride Academy was selected as an EPIC Award winner for Driving Dramatic Student Achievement Gains. Pride Academy faculty members received the award from the national New Leaders organization in recognition of the school’s impact on student achievement and to assist the school in sharing information about their practices with other schools. Mr. Charlie Dunn, our eighth-grade Language Arts Teacher, was selected as 2011-2012 New Jersey Charter School Teacher of the Year. Mr. Dunn was presented with his award at the Annual NJCSA Conference in Atlantic City. New Jersey Charter Schools Association Conference, Princeton- April 8, 2011
Pride Academy’s principal and co-founder, Mrs. Thomas, received an award for New Jersey Charter School Administrator of the Year at the New Jersey Charter Schools Association (NJCSA) Annual Conference in Princeton on April 8th, 2011. Mrs. Thomas accepted the award “on behalf of our whole school community, our parents and our staff.”

Ms. Jodie Cenac, our Dean of Academics, 7rh/8th grade Science Teacher, and co-founder, was selected as 2009-2010 New Jersey Charter School Teacher of the Year. Ms. Cenac was presented with her award at the Annual NJCSA Conference Gala in Long Branch, NJ. This was an excellent tribute to Ms. Cenac and during the award ceremony, Ms. Cenac gave an inspiring acceptance speech that showcased her admiration and love for our Pride Family of students, parents, and staff.
