"…emboldening students to harness their own power to shape their futures and the world."

Pride Academy Charter School students partnered with the New York Red Bulls, Red Mango of Millburn, and Shop Rite of East Orange, and other community leaders to promote fitness and to raise money for the school’s sports  and extra-curricular programs

On Friday, October 7, 2016, Pride Academy Charter students took over Elmwood Park  and raised $6,770 for the school’s athletics, mentoring, and other extra-curricular programs.  Local companies and organizations, including the Red Mango in Millburn and Shop Rite of East Orange, Capital Impact Group, Newark Signs and Installations,  The Law Office of Mark A. Bailey, and SKIP: Striving Kids in Progress sponsored this important community event in support of health and fitness.  Sixth grade scholar, Phillip Baskerville, was the top fundraiser and won four home game tickets donated by the New York Red Bulls.

“Much of our success at Pride Academy comes from providing our scholars with a strong foundation in building character, citizenship, and college- and workplace-readiness,” said, Principal, Fiona Thomas. “The benefits our scholars receive due to their participation in team sports, mentoring, and after school activities directly enhance their levels of academic achievement in thinking critically, problem solving, and leadership.”
