Applying for the Lottery

While preference is given to students in Newark, Orange and East Orange, admission is open to students from all surrounding school districts in New Jersey.
STEP 1: Complete an Application Form
Pride Academy Charter School is now accepting admission applications for students who will be in grades 5 to 8 in the 2026-2027 school year.
Create an account and complete your application for your child. If you have more than one child, you will be prompted to add more to enroll.
Application Deadline
In order to be included in the lottery, applications must be received by 12:00 noon on the day of the lottery. Applications received after the deadline will be included in the next lottery.
Families who are on our waitlist for the current year should submit a new application for the 2026-2027 year.
STEP 2: Participate in our Admissions Lottery
Students are selected for admission to PRIDE through a system of lotteries.
Admissions lotteries are done by an automatic system through Power School. Successful applicants will receive an acceptance email from Pride Academy after the lottery.

To receive priority in admission to Pride Academy as a sibling, a prospective student must meet the conditions described in our:

While attendance at the lottery is encouraged, it is not mandatory since successful applicants will receive an acceptance letter from Pride Academy after the lottery.
STEP 3: Register at Pride
After you receive an acceptance letter via email, the next step in the application process is to register for the school year.
Please fill in the data requested in the registration form emailed to you after submitting back your application letter.
