• Step 3: Register at Pride

While preference is given to students in Newark, Orange and East Orange, admission is open to students from all surrounding school districts in New Jersey.

Pride Academy Charter School is now accepting admission applications for students who will be in grades 5 to 8 in the 2025-2026 school year.

Application Deadline

In order to be included in the lottery, applications must be received by 12:00 noon on the day of the lottery. Applications received after the deadline will be included in the next lottery.

Families who are on our waitlist for the current year should submit a new application for the 2025-2026 year.

Students are selected for admission to PRIDE through a system of lotteries.

Admissions lotteries are held at Pride Academy and the lottery will be broadcast in an online meeting. While attendance is encouraged, it is not mandatory since successful applicants will receive an acceptance letter from Pride Academy after the lottery. Please call the school to receive instructions for attending the online lottery meeting.

Students will be selected for admission at random through the lottery.

Please read this document carefully to avoid any misunderstanding or disappointment.

While attendance at the lottery is encouraged, it is not mandatory since successful applicants will receive an acceptance letter from Pride Academy after the lottery.

After you receive an acceptance letter via email, the next step in the application process is to register for the school year.

Please fill in the data requested in the registration form emailed to you after submitting back your application letter.
